Got an opportunity to test WD media player. A friend of mine having problem with the sound in one of the movie played with this player. He asked me to test with my system whether it compatible or not. This player can play that movie without any sound problem. I’ve connected the optical output to the sound system and everything works fine.
If the movie have DTS encoded sound system, the output sent will be detected straight away by the amplifier as DTS. If not, it will be recognized as PCM. Anyway, it maybe a good investment to buy the product. It have normal composite AV output (red, yellow & white terminal), HDMI and optical connection.
